The latest jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed modest growth in August, with overall payroll growth concentrated in health care and social assistance. Job losses were shown in the federal government, mining, and wholesale sectors, while wage growth and unemployment remained steady. Key Employment Highlights – August 2025 ♦️Nonfarm jobs rose by 22,000 ♦️Health care added 31,000 jobs ♦️Social assistance employment increased by 16,000 ♦️Federal government employment fell by 15,000 and is down 97,000 since January. ♦️Average hourly earnings rose by 0.3% to $36.53, a 3.7% gain over the year. ♦️Unemployment held at 4.3%, and the participation rate at 62.3%.
