FAQ: Some games will use the same 32-bit / 64-bit Luma Unity addon. This addon won't work in other Unity games that it wasn't designed for (in contrast to the RenoDX Unity addon which is more universal).

Backup Unity addon downloads: x32 | x64

Installation instructions:

  • Extract all the files directly in the game main executable folder (replace the previous ones if you are updating)
  • If you already had a ReShade installation (dxgi.dll) overwrite it unless it's the same version. If you have other mods that used the dxgi.dll file, find a way to proxy them
  • Boot the game
  • Press home to bring out the ReShade and Luma menus (if they don't appear, ReShade or Luma failed to install or run)
  • Customize the settings if you'd like, the defaults are already good and pick up on your display calibration

Mod Features

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Original and Director's Cut)

  • Fully restores the original post process color grading and bloom (the DC removed color grading and worsened bloom) (this is similar to the Gold Filter Restoration mod, however Luma automatically selects the right color filter by level, as it used to be, instead of using a fixed preset)
  • Adds HDR rendering: the game didn't render to HDR at all, it was in a limited "SDR" range from beginning to end)
  • Adds HDR tonemapping and output
  • Improves SDR output: the game didn't have any tonemapping, it simply clipped after bloom and color filtering
  • Improves bloom, given its radius reduced with resolution and was next to invisible at 4k
  • Improve emissive surfaces, they now have proper dynamic range, making the game shine
  • Restore original lighting shaders in the DC edition given that some were broken
  • Lower z-fighting by increasing the depth buffer quality
  • Fixes multiple post process effects related to user interface not scaling properly at higher resolutions
  • Improves lens flare effects, and player damage/death post process effects, they were stretched at ultrawide resolutions
  • Adds fog from the Definitive Edition to the Gold Filter restoration mod
  • Improve color grading (e.g. gold filter), making it closer to modern standards
  • Fixes projectile decals being fully black and not displaying normal maps properly
  • Fixes ambient occlusion having screen space noise, that made it visually intrusive
  • The UI scaling fix is integrated in the mod, and is customizable with a slider to have UI of your preferred size

Mafia III

  • Upcoming: DLSS Super Resolution + FSR
  • Fixes Yellow LUTs (LUT average color can be removed from the scene, restoring the original scene color)
  • Fixes Ugly LUTs (LUT intensity slider and LUT levels correction)
  • Fixes Bad tonemapping with hue distortions (Uncharted 2)
  • Fixes Bad TAA (DLSS) (WIP, looking amazing so far)
  • Fixes Blur and no sharpening (I've added AMD's RCAS, done before the UI)
  • Fixes Forced chromatic abortion (toggle)
  • Fixes Forced dithering (toggle)
  • Fixes Forced vignette (WIP, doesn't work in cars yet)
  • Fixes Forced FXAA (toggle)
  • Fixes Film Grain and Dithering raising the black floor
  • Fixes Game enforcing 60Hz in FSE
  • Adds Hide gameplay UI toggle (hides all UI, including the pause menu so you need to disable the setting manually atm, immersive)
  • Adds Amazing HDR (seriously this game has a wild dynamic range, daytime is 300k nits, while night time can be dim)
  • Fixes Movies being decoded incorrect, which is a shame as half of the narrative is exposed through videos (probably more than 1h of them). Skin became red due to them decoding to BT.601 instead of BT.709
  • Adds PumboAutoHDR to videos and car rear view mirror (it optionally appears while driving, it looked very flat)
  • Boosted the city lights, cuz they were somewhat dim (optional)
  • Allow removal of Film Grain (not advised)

Just Cause 3

  • Adds HDR tonemapping (with improved quality render targets, meaning banding is reduced)
  • Improved auto exposure, given that it often caused flickering
  • Improved FXAA and SMAA implementations (the edges weren't calculated properly)
  • Fixed video playback being done in the wrong color space
  • Allow disabling the anamorphic bloom (it was stretched horizontally)
  • Fixed Anisotropic Filter 16x still not affecting many surfaces

Heavy Rain

  • Adds HDR rendering (the game just clipped)
  • Adds HDR/SDR tonemapping support
  • Adds ultrawide support
  • Improves film grain (it was really bad)
  • Improves color grading (slightly tweaked to match modern standards, without shifting away from the original look)
  • Adds PumboAutoHDR on pre-recorded cutscenes
  • Fixes the edges of pre-recorded videos playback having an out of place line
  • Expose color grading customization settings

INSIDE

  • Adds HDR support
  • Adds ultrawide support (with chapter selection and credits UI being fixed, and the lens distortion being overly strong is fixed)
  • Exposes a custom aspect ratio slider to play at your preferred aspect ratio

Hollow Knight: Silksong

  • Adds native 16bit HDR grading/tonemapping, respectful of the original art
  • Customizable look with a few primary options (HDR paper white, HDR peak white, HDR highlights, UI brightness, ...)
  • Improves SDR tonemapping mode (optional, the game didn't have any tonemapping and was doing a heavy clip)
  • Adds an SDR to HDR conversion step to Movies and some Menus (for a consistent look)
  • Fixes 8bit quantization and banding on character light
  • Fixes visible steps at the edges of character light
  • Adds fine tuning controls for character light (brightness, radius and falloff)
  • Fixes Vignette being overly dark in Ultrawide
  • Allows disabling Vignette and a couple other things

BioShock 2 Remastered

  • Adds HDR and SDR tonemapping support (the game just clipped)
  • Adds Ultrawide support (weapon model fov was cropped)
  • Fixes fog raising blacks
  • Improves quality of many post process effects
  • Includes the crash fix mod to fix the common crashes

Thumper

  • Fix Ultrawide Vignette being way strong than at 16:9
  • Allow disabling lens distortion

Burnout Paradise Remastered

  • HDR rendering (16 bit, against original 8 bit rendering with no dynamic range) (including the reflections)
  • HDR output, tonemapping and improved SDR output (no more clipping)
  • Fix original grading clipping away shadow and highlights detail due to math errors
  • Improved Bloom
  • Improved Motion Blur quality (48 samples against 16 of the original, reduce accidental jittering), improved Ultrawide support
  • Added PS2 inspired strong Motion Blur (vanilla one was very weak due to the effect being expensive, now 60fps feels super smooth, and cars feel properly fast)
  • Fixed Sun Bloom being stretched in Ultrawide, and fix Sun Bloom not appearing at all if MSAA was enabled
  • Fixed Sun Bloom flickering on and off if things move in front of the camera, now it's blended properly
  • Modernize car headlights/brakes lens coronas
  • Fixed Motion Blur being low intensity and being next to invisible in Ultrawide
  • Fixed Motion Blur not properly applying on car headlights and other transparent elements
  • Tweak tonemapping and lighting to make the game look more HDR
  • Allow disable the strong game color grading, and its commonly present blue/yellow filter
  • Fixed MSAA depth downscale not being done properly, lowering the quality of SSAO, DoF, Particles and Motion Blur
  • Improved particles rendering (they had issues with their additional depth downscale)
  • Improve UI look, given the fire boost effect was very HDR and was all clipped (it's tonemapped too now)
  • Fixed Videos playback being done in the wrong color space (BT.601), causing reds to shift, and added AutoHDR on videos
  • Improved Ultrawide support by hiding unnecessary UI black bars that reduced the FOV and cropped UI out (this game does weird stuff in UW)
  • Added DoF toggle setting

Thief (2014)

  • HDR rendering and tonemapping

  • Improved sun shafts quality

Lego City: Undercover

  • HDR tonemapping

  • Fixed cutscenes being stretched in Ultrawide (use the Rose UW mod for the rest)
