This new version only improves on an already polished product. The pictures are razor sharp and the carousel with video content is a pleasure to browse. Most importantly it's news from a trusted source and it's totally advert free.It's so easy to swipe from article to article within a news category even when a signal is unavailable. I still love the save for off-line feature where I can select articles from multiple topics to read at my leisure.I also enjoy listening to VOA English live while going into work. Thanks again for this great app!

Disappointing that a majority of the articles are framed to and support a political agenda using democrat pushed narratives. How about honestly reporting more than one view point to issues? Or allowing a comment section on the articles?VOA was key to bringing down the ideology that the Soviet Union was built on, destroying a totalitarian socialist regime, freeing millions of people and now it seems to be pushing that same ideology. Sad. Why not hire on some Turning point or Daily Wire writers for starters? Until there is some balance and honest attempts at telling the truth, this is just another source of democrat controlled fake news and propaganda. Tax payers supporting this should get more for their money.

If you are in an intermediate course for any language, I highly recommend this app.After studying Mandarin for a year and a half I found that this app has enhanced my studies along with helping me follow current events.I have no complaints about the functionality and the content of this app, however, to make it a little bit better I believe there should be a section exclusively for short videos from one to five minutes long.

Travel outside the USA and you become aware of the filters we live with in our news media coverage. The major networks offer heavily skewed perspectives meant to lead the viewer to one conclusion or another by the end of the 2-3 minutes. VOA offers primarily global perspective on world events with a little less judgement thrown in which is helpful in my business. I do not wish to have my precious time consumed with anymore nearly inescapable Kardashian baloney thank you.

I don't know why I haven't downloaded the VOA app until today, it's the best news app yet.It's customizability is compared to none.When ever I listen to VOA Amharic nightly program by Birhan, Alula, Addisu, & Solomon; it just brings back my old memories when I used to listen VOA with my dad.Its my number one news source right now, be it local or international news. I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to get informed, while at the same, get entertained.

The app is a bit crowded, too much going on. Needs to be more streamlined. The content is fine — they rely on the Associated Press for a lot of their stories, though they do have reporters stationed around the world. I like their 5 min hourly news update, which is a good complement to CBS, NPR, etc.This is state-run news that is highly uncritical of U.S. foreign policy. Some of their reporting does mildly criticize domestic U.S. policy, and they do lots of stories on issues facing migrants. Just be aware that VOA rarely gives you the full story of what’s going on, sometimes due to bias and sometimes due simply to superficial reporting.
