Can't use additional premium paid request

I have a GitHub Copilot Pro subscription and have used up my limits. Then, in the billing settings, I set additional limits of $10. BUT Copilot still asks me to enable additional premium requests, even though I've already enabled them. For some reason, Copilot doesn't recognize this. I don't know what the problem is. However, in the toolbar, Copilot itself states, “Additional paid premium requests enabled."

I am running into the same issue as well. I have premium request enabled and a budget set. However I can't use claude sonnet 4 and it keeps switching back to 4.1

After a month, I have gotten an update from the support about the created ticket:

It looks like you were still on trial when you originally got in touch with us, and I'm afraid it's not possible for you to enable a budget whilst still on trial. My apologies for the confusing messaging, but the budget should now kick in if you reach your limit of included premium requests.

I was in trial and switched to Pro+, and I don't know if I will encounter the same problem; if so, I will let you know here

yup that was the issue, just need to upgrade from trial to pro+ and the additional premium request should be working fine now.

Same here. I just manually started my Pro subscription (I didn't want to upgrade to Pro+) and the budget rules started working.

But my copilot still doesn't contain Claude 4 Sonet model:

The model itself is something you enable on a different settings page in GitHub. As long as another premium model works, you know the budget functionality works as expected.

Of course I enabled them cause its works when my subscription still has balance. I'm not sure what happens, and now it appears again.

Hey guys I found what my issue was. The issue was I paid for my own copilot, and through a different organization, the other org didn't have premium requests enabled, and you must go to your own personal copilot settings, select which organization requests will go through

check your own personal copilot settings > features.

Could you provide detail where to find this setting? I could not find a "Usage billed to" configuration in VS Code or GitHub copilot settings.

Hey any solution? Some says update from Trail -> Pro and it will be fixed. Is it true? Is there even any settings to update from trail to pro?
Or should I cancel trail and puy pro directly as a workaround? Where is the github support team????

OMG I just fixed it, its true when you end trail and start using paid and just re-open your IDE you ll be able to use copilot agent. To end trail and start pro: just go to that page: https://github.com/settings/billing/licensing
Reminder (4.5 Opus is way too good but price is 3x = 0.12 per request hahah)
