Generating PAT (Personal Access Token)
Question
Body
Actually, I am exploring one option to enable secure channel b/w the config server (hosted on AWS) and github repo (github to host application configurations)
I am thinking to use PAT (Personal access token) option. Suppose that PAT is about to expire in next 1 hour. Before it expire, I need to regenerate that token. Is it possible to regenerate PAT through github API or any programmatic way (like git SDK or git CLI) ?
Why I am asking ==> b'coz if we regenerate every time through github UI console then DevOps person has to take care of re-generating token manually before it expires. DevOps person may forgot to take care about this manual step.
Instead of that manual step , I can schedule one job at backend which will automatically regenerate it through github API call (by exchanging current valid token, which will be about to expire in some time).
Is anyone know, if its possible or not to regenerate the PAT through Github API or CLI interface ? Looking forward..
